The Corporate Affairs team supports SBS to deliver on its unique purpose and uphold SBS’s reputation for editorial independence and integrity. We’re looking for a person with knowledge of the media industry and attention to detail to support our editorial standards processes

About the Role

  • Support the Codes & Guidelines Manager to deliver advice and training to content and sales teams to inform editorial and commercial decisions under the SBS Codes of Practice and the SBS Editorial Guidelines and uphold SBS’s reputation for editorial independence and integrity.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the SBS Codes of Practice and the SBS Editorial Guidelines in response to business needs and regulatory developments, through the preparation of detailed industry and policy research and analysis, consultation with key internal and external stakeholders, and the preparation of internal briefing papers.
  • Provide administrative support to the Codes & Guidelines Manager including: project planning; record-keeping; and assisting with the coordination of the SBS Board Codes Review Committee meetings and papers.

About You

  • 3+ years working in the Australian media industry in a policy, compliance or related areas.
  • Well-developed understanding of the Australian media industry with a specialised knowledge of the regulatory and policy environment and ideally editorial and production processes.
  • Demonstrable ability to undertake and prepare detailed research and analysis of regulatory and policy developments and market trends.
  • Demonstrated project support skills.
