About the role
The Executive Editor, INACA oversees commissioning for all NITV news and current affairs platforms. The role determines and delivers the daily requirements for all NITV News & Current Affairs programs, in consultation with the Executive Producer INACA Output and the Channel Manager of NITV.
You’ll assign stories with full knowledge of SBS’s & NITV editorial responsibilities, priorities and budgets. It’s an exciting opportunity to lead the strategic planning of news and current affairs events and stories, both domestically and internationally, ensuring the highest professional standards.
If successful, you’ll initiate the production of compelling, insightful and relevant content that offers an Indigenous perspective to an Australian audience. You’ll be accountable for maintaining and increasing our competitive position in the various platform markets across breaking news and through in depth, informative stories.
A key challenge is to effectively balance relationships with cross functional senior stakeholders while leading and inspiring a team in a deadline driven environment. The role requires a collaborative and collegiate approach.
We’re looking for a journalist with outstanding news judgement, decision making capacity, production skills and a full understanding of the unique resource requirements of television and digital news products. You’ll have a deep understanding of domestic and Indigenous affairs from a current and historical perspective. With a track record in creative and lateral problem solving, you can show the impact you’ve had contributing to broader strategic plans.
