THE OPPORTUNITY:

The SBS Investigations Unit is at the forefront of cross platform journalism, and we are seeking a talented journalist to join our innovative newsroom in Sydney. You will have experience in TV, digital and/or radio, with the ability to generate ,research and produce distinctive high quality investigations.

The role will:

  • Provide daily production support to the Senior Investigative Journalist
  • Research and collaborate on distinctive stories across TV, digital, and radio platforms for SBS News and Current Affairs programmes.
  • Commission graphics and conduct interviews and ensure material meets strict deadlines

THE REQUIREMENTS:

You will be a journalist with a strong news background, with experience in cross platform national and international news reporting. The role is expected to provide content across all of our news platforms: TV, radio, and online.

You will:

  • Be able to identify, arrange, and conduct interviews as well as pursuing exclusive and distinctive elements of stories in the field and from the office.
  • Have a strong background in and knowledge of international and domestic events.
  • Have a sound understanding of stories which resonate with our diverse audiences, and knowledge of SBS Charter and SBS Code of Conduct.
  • Be able to travel for breaking news coverage and undertake shift work as required
