About the role
The Metadata Specialist will support and work with the SBS Audience Data & Insights team who analyse and report on viewing behaviour, demographics and trends within broadcast television environment. This important function enables SBS Content teams to evaluate the effectiveness of purchase and programming decisions. Ability to work to deadline, responsiveness to rapidly changing schedules, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is key to this role.
The role is responsible for analysing and preparing weekly scheduling reports (pre-logs) for SBS, Viceland and SBS Food channels to provide essential data to ratings service provider Nielsen. This includes extensive data coding, reviewing historical information, categorising programming, schedule amendments and clearing up any inconsistencies. In addition to this, you will be working closely with our Custom Research Team to develop meaningful research findings derived from our insights community panel. You will also assist the SBS Media Team with the creation of research collateral and regular updating / compilation of reports using industry software Arianna.
We are looking for someone with excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel at an intermediate level. You have a high level of attention to detail, and experience working with large volumes of data. As you will be working on reports, you have excellent written and verbal skills, and can read, edit and check data accurately.
To be successful, you are able to manage multiple tasks at the same time, and able to prioritise and deliver work to strict deadlines. Previous exposure to Sparq, Arianna, IBMS Integrated Broadcast Management System (Sintec) and/or Nielsen Events Editor within a television programming environment would be highly regarded.
