Software Integration Developer

SBS seeks an experienced Java/ESB developer to join the team that develops SBS’ video processing and graphics system.

You will be joining a progressive organisation with a team of developers, architects and security specialists. You will contribute as a highly autonomous java developer working with studio graphics (AR), video processing / encoding systems and more.

About the role

The Software Integration Developer will be responsible for creating user facing features, liaising with the broadcast graphics and video teams to bridge the gap between their creative vison, operational requirements and the technical implementation. You will work closely with the broadcast and digital engineering teams as well as integrating applications and API’s from third party providers.

  • Ability to produce considered and well-crafted (testable) code
  • Ability to work on a diverse range of projects and technologies
  • Work collaboratively with your immediate team and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work to task and deadlines
  • Working on high profile events and products within the SBS ecosystem

About you

You will have 3 years of development experience and strong Java skills using service-oriented architectures and Swing GUI development.

  • 3+ experience in Java technologies including J2EE technologies (eg; Tomcat, Apache, ActiveMQ, Maven, Jenkins, JBPM)
  • Experience with mature integration methods / patterns (e.g. Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), data web oriented architectures (REST)
  • MuleSoft or experience with other ESB technologies
  • Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders to elicit requirements and document and explain solutions
  • Source control with Git
  • Proactive and team oriented professional
  • Degree in Computer Science / Information technology or equivalent

What sets you apart from the rest

  • Experience with Broadcast and/or Video systems and environment:
    • Broadcast Graphics solutions such as Vizrt
    • Knowledge of video encoding and transcoding systems and codecs
    • Streaming video technologies
    • Media Asset Management (MAM)
  • AI / ML, in particular language translation
  • Java Swing knowledgePost-graduate qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology
