Stakeholder Relations Coordinator/Junior Project Officer

The Corporate Affairs team is seeking an energetic, passionate self-starter to join us in the position of Stakeholder Relations Coordinator/ Junior Project Officer. Corporate Affairs enables SBS to connect with all stakeholders and partners to enhance and extend SBS’s reputation, influence and reach. It supports SBS to establish strategic dialogue with its key political, community, industry and Indigenous stakeholders.

About the role

Reporting to the Community Engagement & Partnerships Manager, the role of Stakeholder Relations Coordinator is to deliver develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively with the broader SBS team to deliver effective campaigns and events. More specifically, the duties include:

  • Communicating with key stakeholders on issues affecting SBS, particularly as they relate to media and cultural diversity
  • Preparing research briefings and advice for engagement opportunities
  • Supporting the Corporate Affairs team by streamlining and maintaining the Stakeholder Relations database of contacts, coordinating visits, meetings and events
  • Executing projects and events as directed
  • Assisting the Community Engagement and Partnerships Manager with evaluating projects, preparing reports and giving general administrative support

About you

We are looking for someone who has great communication skills and able to interact and maintain great relationships with various stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will be curious with a can do/will do approach. In addition, you would have:

  • Previous experience in coordinating projects
  • Superior research skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and problem-solve
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases
  • Good understanding of multicultural stakeholders is a bonus
  • Journalism or media background with social media skills is valued
