This is a unique opportunity to work on NITV's flagship news and current affairs program, the Point as a member of NITV’s Indigenous News and Current Affairs (INACA) team. The Point provides audiences with unique Indigenous perspectives and analysis of the biggest stories of the week.

About the role

This role can be based anywhere in Australia. 

This role works to the INACA Executive Editor and reports nationally for the Point. Including the production and execution of television features and breaking news on all NITV platforms. In addition, this role is responsible for;

  • Delivering to NITV digital platforms
  • Pitching, planning, preparing, researching, writing, editing and producing high-quality, original and engaging news and current affairs feature stories for on air and digital platforms
  • Generating, developing and fostering content ideas which reflect the SBS Charter and NITV’s unique identity with primacy of Indigenous voice and perspective in all stories, on all platforms

About you

We are looking for someone who can;

  • Promote innovation in the publication of content on social media platforms by finding new story-telling methods and repurpose content in a creative way across digital platforms.
  • Be fully across content management systems and photo and video editing software.
  • Understand the latest multi-platform audience-engagement techniques.

This is an identified Indigenous position. The filling of this vacancy is intended to constitute an affirmative measure under subsection 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975
