SBS Technology can be thought of as the 'engine room' of SBS. Our primary role is to enable and support the production, distribution, and transmission of content across television, radio, and online platforms. Our teams achieve this by working collaboratively to design innovative solutions and deliver end-to-end services for our business stakeholders.
The Enterprise Digital Services (EDS) team manage the infrastructure, platforms, and services that power SBS’s digital experience. Using customer-centric processes, EDS designs and develops omnichannel digital products that connect business and audience outcomes.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the Manager, EDS works collaboratively to define digital roadmaps, manage end-to-end delivery using agile practices, and ensure best practice across UX, design, and software engineering in the pursuit of creating better products and services for SBS’s audiences. Three key areas of the role are;
Managing a large team of 40+ employees, responsible for high availability and high volume digital products. You’ll be tasked with building and maintaining high levels of staff engagement, and creating and nurturing cross-functional teams. We’re passionate about fostering a culture where people can bring their whole selves to work, and you will create a highly motivated, coherent and cohesive culture which rewards innovation. You’ll empower teams to work autonomously and develop accountability within the team unit.
This role requires strong domain-knowledge where you will operate a best in class digital technology team and make sensible, strategic technology and platform decisions. You'll drive adoption of best practice and best in class technologies, creating a culture of cross-skilling staff to improve core competencies that remove single points of failure.
The Manager EDS manages a portfolio of digital delivery initiatives, ensuring the customer is always at the centre of SBS’s digital products and services. You’ll will create autonomous and accountable agile delivery teams and define consistent practices across agile delivery streams.
