Our audience is growing and we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong experience working in a web development environment utilising the latest technologies from AWS to automate our development team workflows.
About the role
Over the next 2 years we are re-structuring our content data schema and re-architecting our infrastructure and platform to deliver SBS’ excellent unique content via API’s that will be able to serve internal and third-party publishing platforms such as our websites, apps, Google AMP, Apple News and the SBS On Demand video streaming platform.
We’re throwing out our legacy systems and code bases to wipe the slate clean and rebuild from scratch, selecting the right code languages, the right databases and right AWS services for the tasks at hand. It’s a great opportunity to join a motivated team working with new greenfield projects, whilst doing it for the greater purpose of the Australian community.
The right candidate for the role will have a bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or IT with strong experience support high-traffic and high-availability production workloads.
You will be experienced working within an agile web development team, utilising AWS technologies, container management and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes), whilst using automation to solve problems and manage CI/CD workflows.
You’ll have a strong background working with Linux operating systems, have a good knowledge of internet fundamentals (TCP/IP, CDN, PKI, HTTPS, HTTP response codes), whilst having solid scripting experience in one or more of the following languages: Shell, Python, Ruby or Perl
