About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced TV line-up producer to work on our flagship SBS World News bulletins for a 12-month parental leave position.
If you have a real interest in international news, this is an amazing opportunity in Australian media. You will carry out a range of senior newsroom roles across a 7 day roster. They include for TV: Chief Producer of the 6.30 SBS World News program, Late news and Supervising Producer. Cross-platform coordinating roles involving TV, digital and radio coverage: Evening Editor, National and International Editor.
As well as having input on crafting the programs from an editorial and creative perspective, you’ll supervise the coverage of breaking news as well as special news content.
This is a people leadership role, and will require you to liaise with other stakeholders at SBS including Current Affairs programs, Content, and Radio to ensure cross-promotion and collaboration of our content.
SBS News is one of the most trusted news outlets in the country and we are looking for someone with high editorial standards, the ability to write compelling TV and the creativity to work with our talented graphics team.
You should have a strong understanding of how we tell stories to showcase our multicultural society. Experience producing news bulletins is essential including handling multiple live crosses, breaking news and special news coverage. Any experience working with digital or radio production would be welcome.
You need to have clear communication skills and demonstrated experience in managing a team, preferably in a broadcast environment.
