Series Producer - NITV

NITV is an Indigenous-led channel that holds a special and unique place in the Australian Media Landscape. The team fosters a collaborative and supportive work environment and is passionate about the growth of Indigenous stories and story tellers. We're now looking for a Series Producer to join the Commissions team!

As a member of the NITV Commissions team, you will be responsible for producing NITV’s Our Stories documentary series in a way that reflects our Charter, Vision and Values.

About the Role

You will be responsible for;

  • Managing the call out, assessment, contracting and delivery of the Our Stories slate in a timely manner that meets milestones while remaining on budget.
  • Maintaining a supportive and productive relationship with the Indigenous film making community.
  • Working constructively and effectively with the NITV Commissioning team and across the entire network as directed.
  • Complying with and contributing to the continued improvement of SBS’s Health and Safety Management system.

About you

You'll ideally;

  • Possess the editorial ability required to make Our Stories a success.
  • Be flexible, creative and communicative and demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic understanding of production.
  • Demonstrate assessment skills with experience in relation to scripts and proposals.
  • Assess and review production budgets.
  • Have the ability to come up with fresh, practical and imaginative ideas for program solutions.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the national Indigenous production sector.
  • Have great communication skills! Sharing knowledge is important in this team.
  • Have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Have an understanding of Indigenous Cultural Protocol and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
