We’re embarking on an exciting new chapter, as we define a new product culture at SBS to deliver SBS’s unique content to more Australians through awesome digital products.

About the role

SBS are seeking a Digital Product Owner to help enhance multilingual and multicultural web and mobile apps for Australia's diverse community. 

We are looking for strong influencers, who can inspire a like-minded team of multi-disciplinary problem solvers to come together and deliver quality work using Agile delivery methods, engaging audiences and generating a business return.

As a digital leader, you will contribute to our product culture by sharing your expertise, advocating knowledge and suggesting new ways to improve our processes.

This is a 6 month fixed term, full time opportunity. 

About you

Ideally you will have;

  • Experience operating in a digital Product Owner/Manager BA role
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Experience of the Agile methodology and practices
  • Ability to elaborating user stories/documenting requirements and acceptance testing
  • Some experience in digital media, social media or broadcast environments or content products delivered to audiences
  • Experience in delivering mobile first website and mobile applications preferred

In addition, we are looking for the following skills:

  • Product thinker: You have experience understanding user needs and their priorities and keeps a team focused on the user, whilst considering technical feasibility and business objectives.
  • Problem solver: You understand how to build the right approach & processes for solving different problems, and knows which people and skills are needed to solve the problem.
  • Natural collaborator: You encourage collaborative teamwork in an agile delivery environment, where each person is empowered as the expert in their craft to take ownership in their decisions and collectively drive the project outcomes forward.
  • Adaptable: You are comfortable working collaboratively with the ability to adapt to new information, changing needs and unknowns.
  • Influencer: You know how to builds trust with your team and can influence stakeholders to support decision making and inform a product's direction.
  • Business-minded: Experienced at understanding and communicating how the team or a project are performing against audience and business KPI’s, project timelines and budget.
