Head of Presentation and Promotions Planning

SBS is one of the most unique media organisations in the world today. A media network for all Australians, we have a strong mandate to support, celebrate and appreciate the diversity of Australia’s multicultural society. to present world class content across multiple media platforms including on demand services, online, radio and free to air television.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced senior marketing media professional to be a key part of our Marketing leadership team on a fixed term, 2 year contract. This role is responsible for the optimal delivery of SBS’s Network presentation schedule, navigation and cross promotional strategy and associated elements as well as the long term planning and optimisation of the networks promotional inventory. The Head of Presentation and Promotions Planning provides strategic direction and leadership, clearly articulating a vision that aligns with our unique purpose and delivers exceptional audience experiences and outcomes.

This diverse and exciting role combines team leadership with operational excellence, media planning, audience navigation and engagement strategies. This requires a deep understanding of contemporary media marketing practices and the ability to develop your teams capability in a complex, deadline driven business with significant audience reach. A key challenge of this role is to make decisions and modify process and procedure to improve performance on an ongoing basis to deliver long term editorial and audience outcomes that result in increased engagement and loyalty.

We’re looking for someone with excellent leadership, collaboration and stakeholder management skills to influence and inspire. You must have a strong track record in planning and the ability to quickly prioritise by taking a holistic view of our operation and objectives. You’ll be an agile and innovative thinker who is able to come up with original and creative ways to energise your team and deliver impactful outcomes.

  • An in depth understanding of Editorial and Creative output;
  • Strong track record in team leadership;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the activities, roles, and responsibilities of all aspects of an in-house marketing and promotions department;.
  • Advanced knowledge of broadcast traffic, systems, processes, and operations;
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills;
  • Strong business acumen and planing capability;
  • Strong project management skills.
