The Department
The SBS Television and Online Content Division is responsible for the development of content and programming through commissioning and acquiring of relevant content, to support the delivery of our free-to-air television channels alongside our digital streaming service SBS On Demand and our online website offerings such as SBS Food and SBS Sport. Our purpose is to courageously create and curate innovative and engaging content and products that provide different perspectives, inspire conversation and entertain all Australians.
This role sits in the Production & Commercial Strategy team within this Division
This is a full-time, ongoing role based in Sydney (hybrid)
This role is classified as Level 4 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $98K - $106K). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Priorities and Planning, the Audience and Content Analyst will:
Support the Television and Online Content Division with measurement and reporting (e.g. monthly KPI results) and analysing audience, program and costs data
Support the Network Programming team (e.g. channel managers) and Commissioning team (e.g. commissioning editors) to retrieve and analyse audience data on TV and BVOD to analyse channel, genre or program performance
Support the Head of Strategic Priorities and Planning on adhoc analysis as required e.g. strategic reviews, ROI analysis, program cost/hours modelling
Assist in the forecasting of newly commissioned shows, major content acquisitions and key KPIs e.g. consumption hours
Provide quantitative support in the annual audience and revenue projections process
Help to test/create dashboards and visualisations (e.g. Excel, Tableau) to automate audience reporting
About you
Ideally, you will bring:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate relevant and actionable insights from research and data and explain the process
Strong understanding of broadcast and digital measurement and skilled at using industry measurement tools such as eVOZ and Adobe Analytics
Strong Excel skills (esp. in combining different datasets) and proficient in Powerpoint
Expertise in using and creating Tableau dashboards for data visualisation desirable
Passion for learning and using new business intelligence tools (including AI), data warehousing and SQL database querying and reporting
Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and/or at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
A passion for working in the media sector, preferably in broadcast TV or streaming
