This role is classified as Level 5 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $106,689 - $126,039). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Department
SBS’s News and Current Affairs (NACA) division is committed to delivering accurate, balanced, and in-depth coverage of the stories that matter most to Australians â across TV, radio, digital and social platforms. The team is passionate about providing context to complex issues, with a strong focus on representing multicultural and First Nations perspectives.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of News and Current Affairs, the Executive Assistant will play a critical role in enabling the delivery of SBS’s journalism by providing executive and divisional support. You’ll be the central point of contact for the NACA Division, helping to ensure the smooth coordination of key initiatives, communications, events and priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the Director’s complex calendar, correspondence, meetings and travel (including international).
Coordinating divisional communications, team meetings, and business events across NACA.
Supporting financial administration, reporting, and expense reconciliation (using Concur and Oracle).
Acting as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including Board-level executives.
Contributing to the EA network across SBS and stepping in to support other leaders as required.
About you
We’re looking for someone who brings:
A proven track record as a high-performing Executive Assistant, ideally with 5+ years' experience supporting senior executives.
Excellent diary and inbox management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced news environment.
Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from journalists to Board members.
Strong organisational skills and a solutions-focused mindset â you love improving processes and anticipating needs.
Tech savvy and detail-oriented, with experience using tools like Microsoft Office, Concur and Oracle.
