Maintenance Technician

    This role is classified as Level 2 [$68,239 - $89,140] under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

    The Department

    The Role

    This is 3 days/week Part-time 6-month contract role.

    Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager VIC/ACT, the Maintenance Technician  will play a critical role in maintaining our critical broadcast infrastructure in the Melbourne office, on a day to day basis you can expect to work in radio studios as well as on servers in our machine rooms. This role is responsible for working on existing studio equipment as well as assisting in the deployment of new technology projects.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Day to day maintenance of Studio and Machine room based systems, including troubleshooting and fixing reported issues.
    • Deploying new systems under the supervision of project stakeholders.
    • Documenting changes and systems, in line with best change management processes.

    About you

    We’re looking for someone who brings:

    • Solid understanding of IP networking, file system infrastructure, and software installation/update practice. 
    • CAD drawing and editing experience with AutoCAD and/or Visio.
    • Applicants should have at least two (2) years of direct, hands-on experience in television/radio broadcast and/or production and IT network equipment integration.
