NITV Audience & Content Analyst

This role is classified as a Level 4 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $96,483 - $106,688). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

NITV has a distinct identity and unique purpose as part of the SBS network and is primarily produced by, for and about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; in turn promoting an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures to all Australians.

NITV first launched as the National Indigenous broadcaster in 2007 and in 2012 became a part of the SBS network – becoming available to all Australians on free-to-air television. Today, NITV continues to grow audiences and channels, sharing authentic and meaningful stories that heal, celebrate, cleanse, grow and inspire.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Strategy, People & Operations and working closely with the Head of Audience & Programming, this role will:

  • Consolidate and analyse audience performance across TV, On Demand, BVOD and social platforms.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards and performance summaries to inform programming, commissioning and digital strategies.
  • Support ROI analysis for new commissions and productions, ensuring decisions are data-informed.
  • Maintain and update audience reference sheets, KPIs and performance reports for NITV stakeholders.
  • Manage the relationship with SBS Audience Data & Insights (AD&I) and the NITV Audience Panel to capture and share insights effectively.
  • Provide actionable insights and data presentations to senior leaders, enabling evidence-based decision-making across the network.

About You

Ideally, you will bring:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in data analysis, reporting or audience measurement within media or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in audience measurement tools (OzTAM, VPM, VOZ, Adobe Analytics), Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in Tableau and an interest in emerging BI tools and data analysis platforms.
  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A genuine passion for Indigenous storytelling, the media industry, and the unique role NITV plays in Australia.
