The Role

This role is a 7 month parental leave cover position for four days per week, with the potential to be extended. The Safety Manager provides guidance, clarity and support to senior management through relevant reporting to lead the development and maintenance of SBS's safety culture. This is an end to end role which will provide you with the opportunity to connect deeply with the business in driving forward a safety first culture.

Reporting to the Head of Health and Wellbeing, this role will see you doing the following:

  • Providing guidance, clarity and support to senior leaders throughout SBS on safety, hazards and reporting requirements
  • Working closely with stakeholders at all levels of the business to accurately assess compliance with policy

  • Ensuring compliance with requirements for employees covered by legislation and the SBS Enterprise Agreement

  • Developing and providing training to relevant stakeholders on safety policy and procedures

  • Recommending strategies and actions to overcome barriers to compliance and measure effectiveness

  • Communicate and measure leadership KPI's relating to safety

  • Accurately ensuring that all records are compliant and up to date
About you
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the Comcare jurisdictional requirements and adapt to business needs within the boundaries of established legal requirements
  • Safety subject matter expertise
