The Team

The Networking team is responsible for all the networking components of the Technology department. As such the team is responsible also for the proactive maintenance of LAN and WAN logical and physical environment, including configuration, physical and logical hygiene as well as contributing to design and implementing new solutions.

The Role

As a lead to a small team, apply proven best practice communications and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the immediate Infrastructure team and the technology department (including architectural functions) on issues related to the design and deployment of networking and storage systems.

Be responsible for the day-to-day operational administration and maintenance of SBS’s Network and Storage environments and solving any problems / issues that may occur.

• The implementation, development, documentation, testing, and maintenance of LAN and WAN networks, routers, switches, and firewall solutions; working independently, in a team, and with vendors.
• Lead the Transformation / Migration for new deployments and technologies including the new Media IP network

The role is expected to innovate and ensure quality is continuously improving, safeguard the integrity of data transmission, implementation, and support meeting both industry best practice and SBS requirements.

It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are vaccinated with at least two doses of an approved Covid-19 vaccination. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you

• A degree in computer science, other technical disciplines, or comparable qualifications
• Operational experienced and proficient in Cisco networking.

• Cisco Catalyst 6000 and Cisco Nexus 9K switching families and VXLA         
• Cisco Checkpoint Firewalls, Cisco Firepower 2000 / 4000 series firewalls        
• Cisco ASA 5000 series and Cisco AST 1000 series routers
• Cisco CCNA certification.
• Operational experience with Cisco DCNM management platforms
• Knowledge of RIP and BGP protocols
• Knowledge of Cisco WAPs, WLC and ISE
• Familiarity with SDN & SDDC technologies and their applications
• Solid Routing and Switching skills
• Familiarity with L4-7 services integration in a data centre environment

Required Soft Skills:

• The candidate should reach the Career Level of Manager/Senior Manager or higher.
• Good communication skills
• Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
• Customer-oriented, details, and reliable working style
• Enjoy working in a team environment
