The Department

The Role

The Senior Producer is responsible for the production and delivery of distinctive and innovative multi-platform content for the relevant language program.  The content will be consistent with SBS Codes of Practice, Editorial Guidelines, established editorial strategy and other relevant standards and formats. 

As a senior member of a team, the Senior Producer is responsible for undertaking their work in a way that reflects SBS’s Charter, Vision and Values, fosters a positive and proactive work environment, and complies with SBS’s policies, procedures and practices.

Candidates must have full working rights and reside in Sydney or Melbourne  to be eligible applicants.

This role is being offered on a Part-time basis (Contract, ~6 months April to Sept) and is to be performed hybrid in Sydney or Melbourne location.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• Demonstrated experience in digital journalism/production, including the production and presentation of multi-platform content (video, online article, social media, and podcast) and ability to compile and sub-edit news, sport, and current affairs from a variety of sources.
• A rich understanding of the Samoan community in general and the Samoan- speaking community in particular, living in Australia
• Proven ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and problem-solve.
• Demonstrated ability to be a star collaborator and maintain productive relationships with colleagues and a range of stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English and in Samoan  both written and spoken including clear broadcast delivery. 

The preferred candidate might be required to undertake language and journalist assessments as part of the recruitment process.
