Social Media Executive

This role is classified as Level 2 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $68,239 - $75,000). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Team

You’ll be part of SBS’s Social Strategy Team, an innovative and dynamic group within the Marketing Department that brings SBS stories to life on social. Reporting to the Social Platform and Content Strategist, you’ll help shape conversations, communities and content across SBS’s flagship channels including SBS On Demand and SBS Australia.

Position: Social Media Executive 

Are you passionate about online communities, digital storytelling, and culture-led content? SBS is looking for a Social Media Executive to help shape how our audiences experience SBS across social platforms - from fostering safe, respectful community spaces to publishing and producing social-first content that reflects contemporary Australia.

The Role

Reporting to Social Platform and Content Strategist, this role supports the publishing, production and community engagement of social content across the flagship SBS social media profiles.

This is a permanent, Part-time (23 hours/week) role based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive environment across SBS social media channels through active moderation, community engagement and risk management
  • Use Sprout Social to moderate and publish content, manage comments, tag risk levels, support paid campaign moderation and report on audience sentiment and emerging themes
  • Support the publishing and scheduling of campaign, always-on and reactive content across SBS On Demand and SBS Australia social channels, ensuring all posts are on-brand and culturally relevant
  • Support the production of social-first content, including short-form and long-form video, and assist with content capture where required
  • Work collaboratively with Social Producers, Strategists, Marketing teams and external partners to deliver high-quality social outcomes, contribute ideas and continuously improve performance

About you

We're Looking For Someone With:

  • Demonstrated strong experience in scheduling and/or moderation of social media platforms, particularly TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly copywriting, with high attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field is desirable but not necessary  
  • Bonus points for content production experience
