This role is classified as Level 2 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with annual  base salary range of $68,239-$89,139). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Role  

SBS is offering a rare and exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Editing Operations team. As part of this creative group of video editors, you will contribute to producing engaging content for SBS Arabic digital and social media platforms. While specialising in Arabic News, you may also be assigned to other editing shifts as needed. 

 Reporting to the Senior Editor, Editing Operations, this role involves working on editing shifts and requires the following capabilities: 

  • Exceptional Communication Skills: High proficiency in reading and writing in both Arabic and English. 
  • Social Media Expertise: Proven experience editing videos for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Audition. Familiarity with After Effects and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve is highly desirable. 
  • Editorial Insight: Strong understanding of news editorial principles and the ability to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Media Management: Knowledge of data handling and media wrangling. 
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively and professionally with colleagues, fostering a positive and productive team environment. 
  • Client-Focused Mindset: A genuine desire to exceed client expectations by delivering exceptional service. 
  • On-Site Commitment: Availability to work at our Artarmon television studios in Sydney. 
  • Flexibility in Scheduling: Willingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends and late nights, as required in News and Current Affairs. 

About You 

We are seeking a professional with solid experience in social media and digital video production. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to consistently deliver high-quality, engaging content under tight deadlines. You are a strategic thinker with a results-driven approach and take full ownership to achieve outstanding outcomes.
