Vietnamese - Digital Content Producer

This role is classified as Level 2 under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (annual base salary $68, 239 - $89, 139). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Department

At the heart of SBS, Audio and Language Content has over 60 language teams engaging audiences in conversations on Australian and international news and current affairs, and connecting communities through stories and providing settlement information. We deliver services across radio, podcasting, online and social media.

The Role

With a sound understanding of the Vietnamese-speaking community in Australia and its cultural sensitivities, The Digital Content Producer is responsible for the production and delivery of distinctive and innovative multi-platform content (podcasts and articles) for SBS Vietnamese. Prior experience in journalism or broadcasting will be highly regarded. If you have a passion for audio content including, podcast production, and you are also comfortable working online, we’d like to hear from you.

About you

We are looking for someone:

  • Ability to research, write, produce, translate and present digital content (including news, current affairs and community stories) to provide multiplatform content. 
  • Ability to produce social videos 
  • Proficiency in speaking and typing in Vietnamese as well as English. Also, you will be comfortable participating in a language assessment task as part of our interview process. 
  • Ability to craft engaging title and abstracts for online and social media (experience using Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram would be an advantage).
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining appropriate contact with correspondents and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Contributing to divisional objectives through participation in cross-language content and other initiatives.
  • Creating audio podcasts (including recording interviews and features). 
  • Using systems and equipment to edit and publish content to SBS and third-party platforms.
  • This is a part-time rostered position (19 hours per week), located in our Sydney office. Successful candidates must be able to undertake shift work (which may involve evening and weekend work).
