The Role

The Business and Reporting Analyst will use their highly developed analytical and report building skills to identify and extract data to provide regular reporting on people metrics. The role will also analyse and outline the story related to the data so that it can be used for data lead decision making and strategic planning.

Reporting to the Head of P&C Operations, the Business and Reporting Analyst role will be undertaking the following:  

  • Undertaking the reporting function with the BI Team by reviewing data sources, determine any gaps, liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the relevant data collection, develop reports in line with best practice.
  • Providing analytical data, insights, and storytelling, ensuring all data presented is visually easy to understand, outlining what are the key messages relating to the data. All reports should provide adequate information for the business to understand, easily identify and develop strategies to address the issues on hand.
  • Developing analysis, forecasts, and scenario modelling in support of key People and Culture strategic and operational objectives.
  • Undertaking and reviewing data sources with the aim of analysing existing methods of collecting data. Consulting with team and reviewing current methodology and processes to propose alternative methods, procedures or workflows of collecting the required data.
  • Propose and recommend innovative solutions to revise data collect and reporting methods/procedures, alter workflows, propose redefining job functions, and resolve problems within the People and Culture reporting framework.
  • Scope, review, lead with subject matter experts to implement changes to systems or processes required to ensure data is collected, stores and reported on in a consistent and accurate manner.

About you

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree such as Business Administration, Information Technology etc with a Business and Reporting Analyst focus on advanced Excel, including VBA, automation, Power Pivot, Power Query, and integration with SQL databases.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Business and Reporting Analyst role with demonstrated experience in data reporting build, a strong passion for data analysis, reporting, and visualization, particularly within HR and People data domains.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management, governance, and quality control principles.
  • A collaborative approach to work, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Relevant experience in database systems, query tools or implementing systems. Tableau experience would be highly desirable.
