SBS CulturalConnect; A Division within SBS Media

SBS CulturalConnect is a team of strategy, creative and solutions specialists that connect organisations to culture, community and Country across SBS’ ecosystem.
We support the National SBS Media Sales Team by developing go-to-market content collateral, creative campaign productions and trade marketing promotions, authentically aligned to SBS’s diverse audience, distinctive content and cross-platforms including TV, On Demand, online, social media and radio.

The Role

This role is suitable for someone that would like to a versatile introduction to the world of media & partnerships.

  • Provide general and administrative support across a variety of duties 
  • Work with line manager in the development and timely delivery of content collateral and sponsorship proposals for SBS Network programming by the Integrated Brand Solutions Team
  • Develop sales collateral and maintain upkeep of key tracking documents, including content & sponsorship planners, resource trackers, programming flipbooks, credential decks, programming changes, annual cultural events calendar
  • Disseminate latest updates and regularly present to the National Media Sales Team, ensuring they are well-informed about content changes, sponsorship opportunities, ratings & marketing results, upcoming trade & cultural events
  • Oversee the delivery of SBS Media EDM’s including managing databases, sourcing content, build & send and tracking engagement
  • Develop internal relationships with other divisions including Channel Managers & Marketing to ensure SBS CulturalConnect remains top-of-mind for any key information shares, content updates, changes & opportunities
  • Support the National SBS Media Sales Team with ad-hoc requests, including identifying content alignments to suit brand briefs, developing slides for market presentations and organising content screeners
  • Creative & administrative support for the SBS CulturalConnect Team, including attending brainstorms, assisting in the implementation of annual cultural training, events & hospitality, sourcing content still images & videos, exporting video files, researching talent, ordering & stocktake of merchandise, booking audio/mastering sessions, sourcing quotes & invoicing

It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are fully vaccinated with an approved Covid-19 vaccination in line with the ATAGI guidelines which include booster shots. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you

  • Driven, curious, creative and organised individual with fantastic people skills.
  • A team player who is proactive and has a positive, can-do attitude. 
  • An ability to take instruction in our reactive, deadline driven business, have initiative to work autonomously but lean on the support and guidance of your fellow team-members as needed.

Our ideal candidate would also have the following:

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare general correspondence, sales presentations, reports and spreadsheets as well as presentation layout skills and basic design capability 
  • A solutions and outcomes focussed attitude, with a keenness to work on a variety of different tasks and projects (no two days will be the same!)
  • Strong communication skills, including interpersonal skills to build professional relationships with a broad range of people at a range of seniority levels
  • Good organisational skills & attention to detail, including an ability to maintain and organise files and documentation
  • Effective time management skills with an ability to balance competing priorities to meet set targets/outcome
  • Some technical knowledge of media file formats is advantageous, or be keen to learn
