The Role

  • Liaise effectively with the Divisions to assess SBS’s compliance with its PGPA policy framework, semi-annually and summarise progress/findings in a Quarterly Compliance Report.
  • Undertake sufficient and appropriate assurance activities to assess compliance against Finance Policy. Leverage results to become a change agent at SBS. 
  • Maintain the Corporate Gifts and Benefits and Conflicts of Interest registers, working with the Divisions to ensure the capture process is working effectively.
  • Ownership and advocacy of the SBS Travel Program working with TMC, ISOS, airlines and travel bookers. Assess plan performance and compliance with SBS Travel and Expense Policy.  Introduce meaningful technology change to improve SBS travel experience and keep TMC accountable to agreed SLA.
  • Execute through the team the SBS Credit and Debit Card program.
  • Owner and advocate of the SBS Procurement Policy. Work closely with the Divisions to ensure procurement is undertaken in accordance with the Procurement Policy.  Execute an assurance program to access compliance against Policy and take remedial actions where need be.
  • Manage and maintain the SBS Finance Manual
  • Deliver SBS Procurement objectives (includes RAP related objectives) through the Divisions, reporting progress and introducing change to procurement practices where required to encourage achievement of objectives.
  • Provide secretariat services to the SBS Board Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
  • Senior liaison for internal audit provider(s).

It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are fully vaccinated with an approved Covid-19 vaccination in line with the ATAGI guidelines which include booster shots. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About You:

  • Extensive compliance and procurement knowledge and hold relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), an ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including the senior level.
  • Highly organised with strong analytical skills and able to manage a portfolio of work and deliverables drawing on support across your team, the organisation or externally where required.
  • Proactive and outcomes focused, able to be hands-on in approach and possess problem solving skills.
  • Confident in dealing with complexity, able to develop beneficial relationships and not afraid to make decisions within a timely manner.
