The Department

The SBS Media Sales division a high-performing, fast-paced and diverse sales team with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.  The team are incredibly driven by SBS’ purpose and our point of difference.  The Cultural Connect team is a dedicated team within the SBS Media Sales Division delivering strategy, creative and solutions that connect organisations to culture, community and Country across SBS’ ecosystem.

This position is in the high-performing, award-winning CulturalConnect Creative Services team, who provide support with integrated opportunities for clients across SBS platforms on tv, online, social media and radio.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to conceptualise, edit, shoot (where needed) and contribute to best practice pitch response deck collateral, effectively communicating integration ideas to clients, as well as producing sales reels, trade marketing campaigns and case study presentations to a premium standard.  Production of Sponsorship Billboards is also a key part of this role.

Reporting into the Creative Manager within our CulturalConnect team, this role will see you:

  • Attend brainstorms to contribute towards innovative concept generation.
  • Development and production of pitch response deck collateral to the highest standard (including storyboards, copy, creative references, logo development, mood boards etc).
  • Ability to self-shoot and edit video content for use as part of pitch response collateral to communicate concepts, internal reels and trade marketing collateral.
  • Lead production support of Sponsorship Billboards.
  • Contribute to SBS Media’s one-team culture approach by assisting with production of internal staff culture event reels and communications.
  • Produce SBS Media trade marketing campaigns and reels whilst working within a team framework to ensure that goals are met, with due consideration for style, SBS and SBS Media brand positioning and reputation, audience and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ensure all project files are maintained and archived as part of your workflows.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments; incorporate and adapt to new technologies as required to ensure that output is of the highest standard.

It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are fully vaccinated with an approved Covid-19 vaccination in line with the ATAGI guidelines which include booster shots. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you

  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • An impressive conceptual outlook and ability to produce original creative, across radio, video and digital, for TV and commercial clients.
  • Experience in post-production including directing voice over artists and technical operators.
  • Some proven experience of overseeing both graphics and post-production to an exceptionally high standard.
  • Strong experience in interpreting briefs, conceptualising and scripting
  • Editing experience with Premiere Pro (or equivalent), with some knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects advantageous. 
  • Ability to multitask and implement multiple projects.
  • Remain calm and solutions-focussed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of different media platforms (including online, social media, radio, tv, print) and how audiences engage with them.
  • Knowledge of MS Office products, in particular MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and TEAMS as you will use these in your day-to-day for creative and pitch responses.
  • Confidence to share and present creative concepts to stakeholders internally and externally, and to manage all aspects of approvals and feedback.
  • Self-motivated with the desire to execute every job to the highest standard.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and departments.
  • Be open to constructive feedback and willing to offer it to others to deliver the best results.
  • Understanding how to champion the SBS Brand, while partnering with commercial brands that align with them.
  • A strong showreel/portfolio of varied creative work that can demonstrate examples of how you have pitched ideas; commercial or short form videos; social media content; sizzle reels; live action shoots; case study reels as well as any examples of digital/multiplatform campaigns.
