The Department

Our People & Culture team have a vision to create amazing employee experiences and we’d welcome an equally amazing People and Culture (HR) Business Partner to join our hard working, inclusive and client focussed team in this full-time permanent opportunity. The P&C Business Partner team is a close-knit team – we look after one another, we work hard but also love a good laugh.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Performance and Partnering, you will balance a combination of both virtual and onsite work in Artarmon, Sydney from 2022. 

  • Building trusted partnerships with divisional Directors, leading your assigned business units and leadership teams through the full spectrum of HR matters and people initiatives. 
  • As that P&C professional, you will already know that partnership is all about fit, so you’ll be assigned business units accordingly. At this stage, you’ll partner with our dynamic News and Current Affairs content division and may be assigned other content areas such as NITV (National Indigenous Television), or may be blended across both content and supporting divisions such as Technology.

It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are vaccinated with at least two doses of an approved Covid-19 vaccination. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you 

As the successful candidate you will be able to balance strategy with tactical execution and won’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty. You’ll be adept at resolving problems, thinking outside the box, negotiating successfully and confidently at all levels, whilst juggling multiple priorities at the same time.

Although you will need to be a broad all-round generalist, you will be confident in ER/IR, and in leading culture and change initiatives to deliver inclusive employee experiences and high engagement.  

The right person to join our team will be a P&C Business Partner who can hit the ground running, experienced in partnering with businesses with diverse functions and needs, and able to demonstrate:

  • Outstanding and influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders at an ExCom level
  • Best practice knowledge across HR generalist domains including employee experience, performance management, employee relations, organisational development, change management, all within a legislative compliance umbrella.
  • Proven experience in managing change initiatives through effective consultation and implementation in order to deliver on strategy
  • Excellent communication, persuasion and influencing skills
  • How you’ve delivered strategic initiatives to achieve tangible outcomes and how they’ve aligned to core business vision

Whilst not essential, this role may be a great opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidate who wants to make a world of difference in their next role, or for an HR guru with an understanding of partnering with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous employee communities, with an appreciation of ATSI cultures and knowledge of protocol.
