The Department

The SBS Creative department is part of the Marketing Division who deliver unique and innovative campaigns that connect Australian Audiences to the world of SBS. 

The Role

This is a Full-time, contract role until April 2025, with hybrid working arrangements. 

The Production Coordinator’s main purpose is to support the Integrated Producer with the scheduling of projects, bookings for the Creative team and tracking deliverables through the production process.

This is not a creative role but you need to be a creative thinker, able to work collaboratively with the Creative team. You will be super organised with established methods and process to stay on top of multiple projects and requests.

The day-to-day is varied and challenging with great opportunities to learn from the Producers in the team and develop your Production experience in television, print, digital and social across campaigns, and our TV channels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the production, design and promos team, with a focus on coordinating media and assets required for production. This includes but is not limited to traffic management, project management and general admin.
  • Track the production pipeline and manage all post production bookings in the Farmerswife software system, communicating any issues that may jeopardise deadlines. 
  • Final checks and delivery of assets across multiple platforms.
  • Report on and maintain up to date subscriptions including production music to APRA, stock imagery clearances, licenses, photography clearances, talent releases. 
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that assets are available on time and to highest technical standards. 
  • Be a guardian for our brands and platforms regardless of medium. 
  • Maintain up to date finance and workflow information within department software system including creating contracts, invoicing, scheduling, booking travel and general office administration. 

About you

  • Experience as a co-ordinator or assistant in a post-production or broadcast media environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting or coordinating a team of people and keeping them organised and on track.
  • An eagle eye and outstanding attention to detail.
  • Some technical knowledge of file formats and delivery standards for creative assets.
  • Experience using project management or production tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Monday, Farmers Wife.
  • Experience with the Adobe suite of editing and design software is desirable however, an eagerness and propensity to be pro-active and learn new software is essential.
