The Role

This role is a Fixed Term Contract until June 2025 opportunity, hybrid working arrangements for a Senior Software Engineer (Senior Full Stack Developer).  

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Streaming and Digital Products (SDP) department. The SDP department is responsible for SBS’ core digital platforms and services. This specific role is part of a specialised team who are prototyping exciting new capabilities using the latest AI techniques

In this role you will:

• Join a progressive organisation with a team of backend, front-end and mobile apps developers as well as designers and UX experts.
• Contribute as a highly autonomous Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with good coding skills in React.JS js and Typescript with a strong focus on Frontend development coupled backends utilising SaaS datastores and workflows.
• Building testable, reusable code and libraries for future use across all SBS digital platforms
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes

About you
You’re an individual who takes accountability seriously and is delivery focused and a self-starter. You show great initiative and passion about your work and you are confident of your software development skills. You have a collaborative mindset but also don’t mind working autonomously. You’d need to come equipped with:

• Proven work experience as a Software Engineer in an Agile team environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of React.js and Typescript
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern web frameworks and libraries.
• Demonstrated understanding of build tools/pipelines including Git, Yarn/NPM & Node.js

Bonus skills (not mandatory):

• Understanding of CI/CD engineering practices and DevOps processes
• Understanding of performance optimisation
• A keen interest in AI, though existing expertise is not required
• Python knowledge or desire to learn will be a bonus, particularly for rapid prototyping of AI.
