The Department

The SBS Access Services and Program Preparation Unit (ASPP) plays a vital part in this process. We help to make SBS content accessible to all Australians through our high-quality subtitling and translation into English, as well as into languages other than English (LOTE), and via the provision of closed captioning and audio description services.

ASPP is seeking a full-time Service Delivery Coordinator to assist our Service Delivery team with administrative tasks, particularly in relation to the allocation and tracking of work to our external service providers, as well as to our subtitlers, editors and our Program Preparation team. The Service Delivery Coordinator is responsible for undertaking their work in a way that reflects SBS’s Charter, Vision and Values and complies with relevant SBS policies, procedures and practices.

The Role

The main tasks/responsibilities include :

  • Assisting with the preparation and allocation of work within both the ASPP team and to external suppliers to ensure that SBS assets continue to meet SBS broadcast standards and deadlines across all channels and platforms;
  • Provide high level administrative assistance to the Service Delivery team, covering the areas of Subtitling, Closed Captioning, Audio Description, and the Subtitling and Multilingual project;
  • Liaise closely with external contractors, both companies and individuals, to coordinate the preparation and finalisation of program files;
  • Be the main point of contact for News and Current Affairs and Online social media for both closed captioning and subtitling needs;
  • Coordinating finance related invoicing from all suppliers;
  • Assisting with audience relations feedback;
  • Backfill and act in higher duties roles when required.
  • It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are vaccinated with at least two doses of an approved Covid-19 vaccination. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you:

The successful applicant will be a team player, be able to work closely with the Service Delivery team and be a contact for other internal departments, with the ability to provide accurate and timely administrative support in a busy office environment. You’ll have experience in, and an understanding of, what it takes to meet the demands of both internal and external clients in a highly demanding broadcast environment.

A proven ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and an understanding of working to tight deadlines is essential.

Experience in media asset management systems such as IBMS and MAM is highly desired, and a knowledge of Oracle and Excel would be an advantage, along with a knowledge of other Office suite programs.
