Video Lead, NITV Digital

This role is classified as Level 4 Content and Production ($94,130 - $104,087 base salary) under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience in alignment with this framework.

We're now looking for a Video Lead to join the digital team!

The Role 

Reporting into the Managing Editor within our Digital team this role will see you doing the following:   

  • Be responsible for the editorial and strategic leadership of digital video content for NITV social platforms.
  • Commission and oversee all video content produced within the digital team, upholding editorial standards and style.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of social video content for major network events, productions and digital-first projects.
  • Deliver content against corporate strategy and as such makes and justifies data-driven editorial decisions, which includes regular data analysis and performance reporting, in concert with the SBS Charter
  • Be responsible for overseeing the equipment and software used by the digital team to shoot and edit video content.

About you 

Ideally, you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience creating video for social media and or web, preferably in a news context.
  • Excellent journalistic and storytelling skills, has knowledge of Indigenous affairs and sound editorial judgement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the digital and social media landscape, including trends in video.
  • You will be ready to pitch original ideas and be able to identify stories that will make engaging and on-charter video content.
  • Experience producing video and graphics using the Adobe suite (Adobe Premiere Pro) and Canva.
  • Skills in graphic design and animation are desired.
  • Excellent eye for detail and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of creative rights management.
  • A good communicator and people manager.
